Ready The Machine When sealing jaws are allowed to move freely during shipment, they run the risk of breaking. To prevent this, use a piece of styrofoam or soft material to wedge the jaws in the open position. If necessary, use a rubber band to close the jaws onto the soft material in order to thwart jaw movement during shipment. There is no need to ship machine tables as they may rub against the machine and cause damage. |

Select a proper box A thick, double-walled, corrugated or wooden crate should be used in order to prevent container breakage during shipment. Oftentimes, these machines are sent in light corrugated boxes and the carton splits open, compromising the packing material and allowing for the sealer to shift and move, which causes machine damage. Remember, if the carton is not rated for the material size and weight, your UPS insurance claim will be rejected. |

Choose the right size box
Remember, a box should be large enough to accommodate the required 6" buffer around the sealer that you are shipping. Too small a box does not allow enough buffer from bad handling shippers. Also, remember use solid, preferably closed foam, not styrofoam on all 6 sides of the sealer. Do not use loose fill, as the machine will settle to the bottom and be damaged. Only rigid materials such as corrugated or closed-cell foams should be used. If the buffer packing material you are using has small particulates that slough off, make sure to enclose the entire machine in a large plastic bag as the particulates will become lodged inside the sealer causing malfunction. |

Include SRA Number, add proper labeling
to the exterior of box and sign the SRA agreement An SRA (Service Return Authorization) number on the shipping label or the outside of the box can be certain that all paperwork outlined in the SRA agreement is included in the carton. The box should have fragile stickers on each panel with your return address information, etc. Now, just read the SRA agreement, sign it, submit the agreement and you will be contacted within 24 hours with an SRA number. |
